Easter Gras Parade

Riverside Academy elementary students finally got to have their parade Thursday afternoon. Riding with their parents in decorated golf carts, wagons, electric toy cars and just about anything else with wheels, the children threw beads, stuffed animals and other toys to faculty and middle and high school students.

Covid-19 restrictions forced the postponement of the annual Mardi Gras parade in February, then inclement weather forced the postponement again last month, so RA staff decided to convert the traditional Mardi Gras parade into an Easter parade — or Easter Gras — on the last day of school before the Easter break. Students will return to classes on April 12.
