The seniors take their traditional final walk through the halls on their last full day of school.

The Riverside Academy Class of 2021 spent their final days as students the week of May 3-7. To make their presence felt for the last few times, the seniors were allowed to ditch their uniforms for special outfits, enjoy muffins with their moms, parade through the parking lot and, finally, walk the halls in their caps and gowns.  This year’s events were especially poignant since so many traditions had to be modified or canceled completely last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Things are mostly back to normal this year, however.

On Monday the seniors were invited to dress like they did in kindergarten. Some dusted off old shorts, skirts and jumpers while others recreated their looks from the early 2000s.

On Tuesday the members of the class wore their special Senioritis shirts.

On Wednesday students wore shirts proclaiming their future college choices. Wednesday also was Ms. Mozella’s annual Great Gatsby party, for which students dressed to the 20s.

Thursday was Career Day, with seniors dressing for their future careers. The annual Muffins with Moms also took place.

On Friday the seniors paraded through the parking lot in cars, trucks, golf carts, four-wheelers, a tractor and even a lawnmower.  As their final farewell, the seniors continued the tradition of donning their caps and gowns to walk the halls and say goodbye.

The seniors must return to school next week for their final exams.
