After losing nearly a month due to Hurricane Ida, the Riverside Academy Lady Rebels got their season started last week. It was a slow start, but the team rebounded over the weekend.

Nearly a month after the official start of the prep season, the Lady Rebels opened their season with a 3-0 loss at Lutcher on Sept. 16. Last week the team lost at Chalmette, 3-2.

Riverside finally played its first home game of the season on Friday, Sept. 24, losing to Haynes Academy 3-0.

Then things began to turn around. On Saturday the team defeated Houma Christian, Hammond and Sacred Heart of Grand Coteau before losing to Assumption in tournament play at Morgan City.

The team has a full schedule this team. The Rebels will host St. Thomas Aquinas on Monday, St. Martin’s on Tuesday (district opener), and East Ascension on Wednesday.
