After two disappointing showings in September, the Riverside Academy football team started October with a bang, rolling to a 43-34 non-district win at Albany.

Riverside let Albany take a 12-0 lead in the first quarter before the Rebels answered, outscoring the Hornets 37-8 in the second and third quarters.

Elijah “Bill” Davis ran for four touchdowns, scoring on runs of 1, 36, 51 and 19 yards. Manny Franklin scored on an 8-yard run and added a 2-point conversion. Cade Middleton scored on a 43-yard pass from Luke Hymel. Craig Matt kicked one PAT.

Riverside, which took a hard hit from Hurricane Ida, is scheduled to play its home opener Friday night against Belle Chasse.
