Pause for a Pink Cause
October 22, 2021
There were cheers and tears as the Riverside Academy volleyball team hosted Destrehan for a match on Oct. 21.
There were cheers from an extra large continent of students in attendance for the game, some wearing the signature pink for breast cancer awareness, but there were also tears as the Lady Rebels paused to honor family members who have and who continue to fight cancer.
Each member of the team hosted an honored guest who either is battling some form of cancer, or represented someone who is. There also were a few representing those who have lost their fight.
Players presented their honored guests with pink roses and pink Hawaiian leis — and hugs.
