Marching Pride of Riverside earns high scores at Festival

The Riverside Academy band earned high rankings Monday night at the District 6 Marching Band Festival held at East Jefferson High School.  The Marching Pride of Riverside earned a superior rating for drum major, a superior rating for auxiliary, an excellent rating for percussion and an overall rating of superior.

It was the first assessment for local bands in more than a year thanks to Covid-19 restrictions and it came less than two months after Hurricane Ida severely damaged the school and, in particular, the band’s rehearsal hall.  After a month-long shutdown, the band relocated to the baseball team’s hitting facility, where they practice their routines.
