The Riverside band celebrated its showing at the District Assessment.

The Riverside Academy marching band received top scores at the annual District VII marching band assessment held Nov. 9 at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux.

Performing the show “Colors,” the band received the top score of 1 in Auxiliary, Percussion and Overall Band. Riverside was one of 11 Louisiana high school bands entered in the event. The Rebel band was one of the top finishers for the eighth consecutive year under the direction of Darryl Clement. The Drum Major is Jeremy Jung. the Percussion Captain is Andrew Jung, the Percussion co-Captain is Emile Graugnard, the Band Captain is Mason Forsythe, the Band Co-captain is Rafael Villarreal,  the Uniform Officer is Emily Weidert and the Librarian is Melanie Roussel.
