Rebel football players earn post-season awards

The Riverside Academy football team fell short of some goals last season, but several Rebels football players were rewarded for their efforts.

Sophomore offensive lineman Alex Ross and junior running back Elijah “Bill” Davis earned honorable mentions on the Louisiana Sports Writers Class 1A All-State Team, which was released Jan. 4.  Both players also were named to the All-District 9-1A first team selected by the coaches. Joining them on the All-District first team were sophomore offensive lineman Noah Trepagnier, junior wide receiver Cade Middleton, junior athlete Manny Franklin, freshman defensive lineman Martrell Henry, freshman flex player Kaleb Brumfield and junior punter Luke Hymel.

Earning second team All-District honors were senior offensive linemen Haeden Whaden and Jayden Dillon, senior wide receiver Kayon Brumfield, sophomore defensive lineman Amiree Alexander, senior defensive lineman Kelvinte Barber and junior linebacker Hunter Champagne.
