Several swimmers qualify for State in first meet

The Riverside Academy swim team started off strong in their first swim meet last Saturday, Sept. 10 at St. James Aquatics Center in Lutcher. The team competed against high schools Hahnville, St. James, Lutcher, E.D. White, and Vanderbilt.

There were seven swimmers that qualified for state including:

Corrin Cashio — the 100 Yard Backstroke

Taylor Duhe — the 100 Yard Backstroke

Jackson Kelly — the 50 Yard Freestyle

Cami LaRose — the 50 Yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Freestyle

MaKayah LaRose — the 50 Yard Freestyle, 100 Yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Breaststroke

Camryn Loving — the 50 Yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Freestyle

Brennan Maus — the 50 Yard Freestyle

The swim team’s next meet will be held Saturday, Sept. 17 at St. James Aquatic Center in Lutcher at 8 a.m.
