An Update On What’s Happening With Riverside Sports

Rebel Express Sports Editor Noah Trepagnier enjoyed a recent pep rally.

Noah Trepagnier, Sports Editor

Hello everybody! I am Noah Trepagnier, the sports editor of The Rebel Express and one of the hosts of the podcast, Ramblin’ Rebels. Let me tell you a little about myself.

I am a junior; I play many sports, including football, basketball, track, and powerlifting. I plan to play college football and, after that, get a job at ESPN to do what I’m doing now — writing about what I love.

I have always loved to write, and it has always come naturally to me. It feels like talking without the fear of someone judging you for how you speak. You see, I was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, a developmental disorder, when I was younger. It means I have difficulty relating to others in social ways, and I like to keep myself on a repetitive schedule. Sometimes when I used to talk to people, I would get nervous and not speak, so I didn’t talk until I found a pen and paper and just started writing down how I felt. My Asperger’s has gotten better over the years, and I’ve learned not to let it define me, so when you ask somebody about me, they will probably tell you I’m always cracking a joke. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, just ask.

As the Sports Editor, I can say the Riverside sports programs are doing fantastic right now. The football team is 4-1 and opening district this Friday at home against St. Martin’s Episcopal. This game should decide the district championship and would be a huge win for first year head coach Lee Roussel. We also have a really good running back in ULL commit Elijah Davis, who is the leading rusher in the state of Louisiana with well over 1,000 yards.

The volleyball team is improving every game and will open district Thursday at home against Ascension Christian.

The swim team is racking up qualifiers for State with another meet at Crawfish Aquatic Center in Baton Rouge on Saturday.

We recently got a new girls head soccer coach in Todd Bourgeois. A new boys coach will be named soon. They will be looking for their first win a while.

This is my first year being the sports editor and i am loving it. Our sports programs are moving in the right direction and making headlines.

That’s how we roll!
