Tommy Milito is an important person to the Riverside Academy softball  community due to the role he has played in virtually every player’s life. He coached many of the youth teams and players over the years, helping them develop as players.

Just recently, Coach Milito was diagnosed with colon cancer. The Riverside family has rallied around Milioto and his family, offering prayers, encouragement, meal trains and donations. The softball girls gathered together in August and made a get-well video for their beloved coach. Daughter Sophie is a freshman at Riverside.

Former softball coach Thomas Hymel is organizing a fundraiser for the family to be held Sunday, Nov. 20 at the Reserve Bantam Recreation Park beginning at 8 a.m. There will be a fishing tournament at 6 a.m., a mixed cabbageball tournament and a corn hole tournament. The Peyton Falgoust Band will perform at  noon and Marty Poche and Jordan Babin will take the stage at 2 p.m. There also will be a  Cancer Walk and a silent auction.

Please contact Thomas Hymel at 225-206-1517 for more information.
