The Riverside Academy Lady Rebels are headed to State,

The Riverside Academy Lady Rebels defeated former district foe St. Martin’s 3-2 in Thursday night’s regional volleyball match, securing themselves a spot in the LHSAA State Tournament to be played Nov. 10-12 at the Cajundome in Lafayette. It is the first trip to State for the Lady Rebels since 2017, the first year Coach Brandi Melancon took over the team. Riverside, the No. 7 seed, will play No. 2 seed Westminster Christian on Thursday in Lafayette. The winner advances to the semifinal round on Nov. 11. All five championship matches will be played on Saturday, Nov. 12.

The Lady Rebels had to fight an epic battle to secure their spot, finally outlasting No. 10 seed St. Martin’s 27-25, 25-20, 12-25, 20-25, 15-8. Myracle Revon and Camryn Loving finished with 12 kills apiece. Chloe St. Pierre had 11. Revon also served four aces and had three blocks. Anna Mistretta had four aces.
