Riverside Academy senior tight end Scott White has committed to Nicholls State University after a weekend visit with the coaches. According to his Twitter, Nicholls offered him a preferred walk-on spot for their football team for the fall of 2023. White comes from a strong bloodline of athletes. His brother John White plays quarterback at Mississippi College. His father, John White Sr., is the head coach for the Rebels basketball team and a football assistant coach.

The 6–foot-1, 235 pound tight end had 17 catches for 401 yards in 2022, making him the leading receiver for the team in his senior season with the Rebels. White was also a volatile asset on the defensive side of the ball, recording 38 tackles, 13 for a loss, four sacks, and one fumble recovery for a touchdown. White is also an athlete in track, winning the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools state championship in the shot put with a throw of 51 feet, 2-1/2 inches his junior year at Oak Forest Academy. He is competing for the Rebels track team this spring.

“I committed to Nicholls because I had a fun time on the tour and the people and staff were great,” White said. “I am very excited to go.”
