Rebels’ season ends with 33-20 loss in quarterfinals

The Rebels’  remarkable season came to an end Friday night with a 33-20 loss on the road at No. 2 seed Vermilion Catholic.

Riverside quarterback Gage Larvadain rushed for 78 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and completed 11 of 19 passes for 150 yards and one touchdown. Elijah Davis ran for 81 yards on 17 carries as the Rebels outgained Vermilion Catholic 382 yard to 288.

The Rebels scored all of their points in the first half and led 20-17 at the intermission.

Riverside finished the season 9-3 after three consecutive sub-.500 finishes. The team was 3-8 last year after bowing out of the playoffs in the first round and 3-7 in 2018.
