An Oklahoma couple has pleaded guilty in connection with the heartbreaking death of their 2-year-old son, who authorities say died from starvation and severe neglect. Authorities identified the child’s parents as Daniel Ash, 33, and Amber Murphy, 32.
According to court records, both parents pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of second-degree murder involving the death of their son, Charles Wayne Ash.
Murphy is reportedly a member of the Quapaw Nation, which placed the case under federal jurisdiction.
The couple was charged after bringing the toddler to Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami, Oklahoma, on September 11, 2024.
