A late-night trip to In-N-Out Burger turned terrifying for an Oregon family after a father was shot in the head while driving home with his wife and two young children. Police have now arrested two suspects and are searching for a third man believed to be involved in the shooting.
Oregon Father Shot After Leaving In-N-Out
The shocking incident happened on February 9 near an In-N-Out Burger in Keizer, Oregon. Police said a Salem family of four had just left the drive-thru when gunfire suddenly erupted near an intersection.
According to investigators, 28-year-old Marcio Garcia was driving with his wife and their two sons, ages 2 and 7, when bullets shattered the vehicle’s windows.
One bullet struck Garcia in the back of the head.

Father Drove Family to Safety Despite Injury
According to a GoFundMe created by Garcia’s wife, the injured father still managed to drive his family away from danger even after being shot.
His wife described the moment as terrifying and emotional, saying Garcia focused on protecting his family before thinking about himself.
Doctors later told the family that Garcia survived without major brain damage, calling his survival a miracle.
Photos shared online showed the bullet removed from Garcia’s head during surgery. He has since returned home and is continuing recovery.
Two Suspects Arrested, Third Still Wanted
Police arrested two Salem men in connection with the shooting:
- Ethan Adrian Armenta-Lagunas, 20
- Gabriel “Alex” Javier, 18
Both suspects face several charges, including:
- First-degree assault
- Unlawful use of a weapon
- Criminal mischief
- Recklessly endangering another person
Authorities are still searching for 22-year-old Anthony Taylor-Manriquez, who is considered armed and dangerous.
Police have asked the public for help in locating him.
Another Victim Also Injured
Investigators said another person walking in the area was also hit by gunfire in the leg during the incident.
That victim survived and received treatment at a nearby hospital.
Weapons Found During Arrest
According to police, officers and Salem SWAT teams arrested Armenta-Lagunas after executing a search warrant at an apartment early Wednesday morning.
Investigators reportedly found multiple firearms inside the apartment, including one weapon believed to have been used in the shooting.
Javier was arrested later the same day.
Family Calls Survival a Miracle
Garcia’s family says they are grateful he survived the attack. His wife described the incident as something no family is ever prepared for and thanked supporters for prayers and donations during his recovery.
The case has shocked the local Oregon community, especially because young children were inside the vehicle during the shooting. Police continue investigating the motive behind the gunfire while searching for the remaining suspect.
