A man has been arrested following a Thursday afternoon shooting on Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge that left a person critically injured.
Man Arrested After Baton Rouge Shooting
Baton Rouge Police reported that officers responded around 3:07 p.m. to a shooting where they found a 28-year-old man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Suspect Turns Himself In
On Saturday, 26-year-old Deandre Selmon surrendered to authorities along with his attorney. Detectives said the shooting resulted from a prior altercation between Selmon and the victim.
Charges and Criminal History
Selmon, who has a prior arrest record including unlawful handling of machine guns, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for attempted second-degree murder.
