A Starbucks employee in LaPlace, Louisiana, was arrested after allegedly using his cell phone to secretly record co-workers in the restroom.
Incident Details
David Alfred Jr., 30, worked at a drive-thru only Starbucks at 4309 U.S. Highway 51. Only employees are allowed inside the coffee shop.
On Friday, a co-worker noticed a cell phone hidden under a sink in the restroom, facing the toilet, and actively recording. Authorities determined the phone belonged to Alfred.
Prior Conviction
The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that Alfred had pleaded guilty in 2022 to a similar crime. He had been sentenced to 30 months in prison for hiding a phone to secretly record employees at a LaPlace casino.
Arrest and Bond
Alfred was arrested later on Friday and booked with one count of video voyeurism. He is being held at the Lt. Sherman Walker Correctional Center in LaPlace on a $75,000 bond.
