A Texas woman has been arrested for allegedly helping her husband carry out a deadly double homicide over a failed business deal. The shocking case has left the local community reeling.
Couple Accused of Multiple Murders
Ae Son Han, 67, faces a murder charge, while her husband, 69-year-old Seung Ho Han, has been charged with two counts of capital murder and three counts of aggravated assault. Authorities say the pair were involved in the killings after a business deal went wrong.
First Shooting Incident
On May 5, 2026, around 10 a.m., Carrollton police responded to a shooting at the K Towne Plaza on State Highway 121. Officers found four people with gunshot wounds. One victim, Sung Rae Cho, died at the scene, while three others survived.
Approximately an hour later, police were called to a second shooting at an apartment half a mile away on Denton Road. There, they found another victim, Edward Schleigh, dead.
Motive Behind the Killings
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by WFAA, Seung Ho Han admitted to shooting all five victims. He reportedly owned a sushi restaurant in the plaza, which houses several Korean businesses. Authorities say the killings were connected to a business deal in Georgia.
Seung Ho Han had given Schleigh $70,000 and one of the surviving victims $5,000, but he claimed the deal fell apart, leaving him financially frustrated. He was also upset that another surviving victim was raising rent at his restaurant.
Ae Son Han’s Role
Police allege that Ae Son Han was with her husband at both crime scenes. A surviving victim told officers that after being shot, she asked Ae Son to call 911. According to the affidavit, Ae Son allegedly replied, “Why aren’t you dead yet? You should have been the first one dead. You are the worst one,” before walking out of the market.
Dashcam footage reportedly showed Seung Ho Han asking his wife to call Schleigh to see if he was home. Authorities say Ae Son “aided” her husband in committing the second homicide.
Arrest and Custody
After the shootings, the Hans were spotted at a McDonald’s drive-thru ordering drinks. Ae Son later traveled to Minnesota, where she was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service. She is currently awaiting extradition to Texas to face charges.
The case has drawn attention for the unusual involvement of a spouse in aiding multiple murders and highlights the deadly consequences of financial disputes gone wrong.
