Police have released the identity of the suspect involved in an active shooter incident in Jeanerette.
Suspect Arrested for Firing Shots
Roderick Johnson, a resident of Jeanerette, was arrested on May 19 and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal use of weapons and dangerous instrumentalities, and disturbing the peace.
Incident Details
Authorities reported that they responded to a call on May 19 at approximately 12:49 p.m., regarding a man allegedly firing shots near the railroad crossing on St. Nicholas Street.
Upon arrival, officers found Johnson armed with two handguns. He was taken into custody without further incident.
