A shocking case in Arkansas has ended with a life sentence for a man who murdered his own mother in 2018. Trevor John Huber, 43, was convicted of first-degree murder in connection with the decapitation of Charlotte Wilson, 63.

On December 21, 2018, authorities responded to a home after receiving a call from Huber, who was 36 at the time. According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by KAIT, Huber sounded confused during the call. When officers arrived, he answered the door naked and appeared disoriented, possibly under the influence of drugs.
Inside the home, police found Charlotte Wilson’s decapitated body. During a search of the residence, officers recovered her head and a blood-covered hammer, believed to be the weapon used in the killing.
Huber’s Statement and Drug Use
During interviews, Huber admitted to using methamphetamine the day before the murder. He told police he feared his mother was poisoning him and may have killed her. In a disturbing act, he reportedly wrote, “I killed my mother” on a piece of paper and swallowed it.
Trial and Sentencing
After a two-day trial, Huber was found guilty of first-degree murder on May 19. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, ensuring he will never be released.
