Jack Avery Breaks Silence After Ex Gabbie Gonzalez Allegedly Tried to Hire a Hitman

Pop singer Jack Avery from Why Don’t We has spoken out after shocking reports that the mother of his daughter, along with two others, allegedly plotted to hire a hitman to kill him.

Arrests Made in Alleged Murder-for-Hire Plot

On May 19, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced the arrest of influencer Gabbie Gonzalez, her father Francisco Gonzalez, and her former boyfriend Kai Faron Cordrey. Authorities said the trio allegedly used the dark web to plan a hit on Jack during an ongoing custody dispute.

Jack shared on Instagram, “A few days ago, three individuals were arrested in connection with an alleged plot to kill me. One of those individuals is the mother of my daughter.”

Jack Avery Talks About the Personal Impact

The singer opened up about the toll the investigation has taken on his life and family.

“For years, my family and I have endured intense public scrutiny, false accusations, and deeply painful attacks on our character and reputation,” he said. “Throughout that time, I chose to remain silent out of respect for the legal process and, most importantly, for my daughter.”

He added that his focus is now on being the best father possible. Jack also expressed gratitude that he has full custody of his daughter, Lavender, who he describes as “safe, healthy and deeply loved.”

“I look forward to continuing to build a peaceful and stable life for her. I also want to express my sincere gratitude to my family, friends, law enforcement and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for their support throughout this process,” he said.

Jack concluded with thanks to those who supported him and “withheld judgment while the truth unfolded,” writing, “Always seek the truth.”

Details of the Alleged Plot

According to prosecutors, Jack and Gabbie were involved in a custody dispute in 2020-2021. Gabbie allegedly enlisted her then-boyfriend, Kai, to use the dark web to hire a hitman.

Francisco Gonzalez, Gabbie’s father, reportedly sent $10,000 to Kai to find and pay a killer, and later added $4,000 when the hitman requested more money. Gabbie allegedly gave personal information about Jack to help plan the attack.

The plot reportedly failed because the defendants contacted an undercover officer posing as a hitman. Prosecutors say Kai discussed proof of death, payment, and confirmed that Gabbie wanted the hit while her father would pay for it.

Legal Proceedings and Possible Consequences

All three face charges of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and solicitation of murder. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said, “Most fathers raise their children to respect the law, but here we have a dad who allegedly helped his daughter and her boyfriend break the law in the most sinister way imaginable.”

Francisco was arrested in Florida and is expected to be extradited to California. Gabbie and Kai made their first court appearance on May 21, with arraignment scheduled for July 23. Prosecutors warn that, if convicted, all three could face 25 years to life in prison.

Jack Avery’s Focus on His Daughter

Amid the ongoing legal battle, Jack Avery’s priority remains his daughter Lavender’s safety and well-being. He is committed to maintaining a peaceful and stable life for her, showing resilience and responsibility even in the face of public scrutiny.
