A Ruston man was arrested late Sunday night after a traffic stop on Louisiana Highway 33, the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office reported.

Traffic Stop Details

Deputies observed a Cadillac SUV making an erratic lane change while traveling north on La. 33 around 11:30 p.m. on May 17. The vehicle was stopped, and deputies made contact with its occupants. The driver stated she did not have a valid driver’s license or proof of insurance.

Drug Discovery and Arrest

While speaking with the passengers, deputies detected the odor of marijuana. Bernard Norman Hollins Jr., 35, admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle. A search revealed a plastic bag containing two smaller baggies of suspected marijuana, weighing approximately 36 grams, along with a digital scale.

Hollins was booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on charges of possession of marijuana over 28 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
