A woman in Lafayette, Louisiana, was shot during a transaction to sell personal property, and authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with the incident.
Alvin Harris, 18, is charged with attempted first-degree murder. His bond has been set at $500,000, according to the Lafayette Police Department.
Details of the Shooting
Officers responded to a local hospital around 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, after the victim arrived with multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities reported that the woman is in stable condition and her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The shooting occurred on Mercer Lane during a planned sale. Police said the victim and her boyfriend had arranged to meet a buyer, but during the exchange, the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and fired at the pair, striking the woman.
Arrest Made
Harris was later arrested on North Buchanan Street by the Lafayette Police Department’s Tactical Narcotics Team (TNT) and SWAT teams.
