A Florida man is in custody after his wife was found dead in their home in a violent and bloody incident he later partially blamed on “rough s*x,” according to law enforcement.

Bradly Shawn Shadduck, 56, faces a second-degree murder charge for the death of his 62-year-old wife, Lynne Alane Shadduck, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

Fatal Incident in Cudjoe Key

The tragedy occurred at the couple’s two-story home on Maracaibo Lane in Cudjoe Key, part of the lower Florida Keys. Deputies responded just before 6 a.m. after a neighbor called 911 on behalf of Shadduck, who reportedly appeared at the neighbor’s door naked, covered only with a Cleveland Browns blanket, and told him to call for help.

Authorities described the home as “in complete disarray,” with broken items scattered throughout. Blood and smears were found across the floors, including a large pool in the center of the living room.

Discovery of the Victim

Lynne Shadduck was found lying naked in a hallway, unconscious but still breathing. She was immediately rushed to Lower Keys Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.

Husband’s Account

During questioning, Bradly Shadduck gave little information, saying only, “This just happened,” and repeatedly stating that his wife needed help. He later told detectives he and his wife had “food and lots of drinks” at a restaurant the night before and claimed the mess in the house was due to “rough s*x.”

A deputy wrote in the charging documents, “Bradly said that when he drinks, he passes out and doesn’t remember anything.” He reportedly asked for a lawyer during questioning.

Surveillance Footage

Video surveillance reportedly shows Shadduck going to a neighbor’s home to request a 911 call, appearing wet as if he had just showered. Another video shows him banging on a different neighbor’s doors and windows just after 4 a.m., shirtless and wearing shorts. Bloody handprints were later found on a railing at that home.

Search of the Residence

A search warrant revealed blood throughout the Shadduck home. Hand smears, pools of blood, and signs of a struggle were found from the front door through the main hallway to the bathroom. The bathroom showed dried blood around the toilet and shower, indicating the victim may have been dragged.

Background and Court Information

Bradly Shadduck has prior boating and traffic infractions but no significant criminal record in Monroe County, Law&Crime reports. The arresting deputy concluded that evidence indicated a “significant fight and struggle for the victim,” though the defendant had no injuries.

Shadduck is currently being held at the Monroe County Detention Center without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 5, 2026.
