Two men in Louisiana have been arrested after allegedly throwing a pregnant woman from a moving vehicle.

The Incident

The attack took place around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, on Katherine Street in New Iberia. Residents in the area came to the aid of the woman until Jeanerette police arrived. She was then taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Arrests and Charges

Police arrested 34-year-old Brett Michael Phillips of New Iberia. He faces charges including attempted first-degree feticide, second-degree kidnapping, domestic ab*se battery involving a pregnant victim, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and driving without a valid license.

36-year-old Chris Adam Phillips was also arrested. He was charged as a principal in attempted first-degree feticide, second-degree kidnapping, and domestic ab*se battery involving a pregnant victim. Additional charges include simple assault and failure to seek assistance.

Relationship Between Victim and Suspect

Investigators discovered that the pregnant woman and one of the suspects were in a dating relationship. The circumstances leading to the attack are still under investigation.

Custody

Both men were booked into the Iberia Parish Jail. Authorities continue to investigate the case and have not released further details.
