A shocking murder case in Philadelphia has led to the arrest of four people after the remains of a 53-year-old man were discovered inside a suitcase and trash bags in an alley.
Authorities say the victim, Vincent Good, was a double amputee who relied on a wheelchair and received care from one of the suspects. The case has attracted widespread attention due to the disturbing details surrounding the alleged crime and the ongoing investigation into a possible financial motive.
Body Found in Suitcase Leads to Major Investigation
On May 22, police were alerted after a person searching for scrap materials in an alley found a suitcase containing human remains. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered additional body parts inside two large industrial-sized trash bags nearby.
According to investigators, the remains belonged to a man who had suffered gunshot wounds to the head. The body was badly decomposed, making it difficult for medical examiners to determine certain details immediately.
After further examination, authorities identified the victim as Vincent Good, a 53-year-old Philadelphia resident.
Victim Identified as Vincent Good
Vincent Good was a double amputee who used a wheelchair for mobility. Reports indicate that one of his hands had been amputated below the wrist, while one of his legs had been amputated below the knee.
Neighbours told local media that Good lived with Liza Ridley, who worked as his caregiver and was reportedly also in a romantic relationship with him. According to neighbours, the couple frequently argued, although investigators have not confirmed whether those disputes were connected to the alleged crime.
Four People Arrested and Charged
The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office announced charges against four individuals:
| Name | Age | Alleged Involvement |
|---|---|---|
| Liza Ridley | 53 | Main suspect, charged with murder and other offences |
| Bernadette Ridley | 55 | Accused of helping dismember the victim and conceal evidence |
| Liza Robinson | 32 | Accused of assisting with cleanup and evidence disposal |
| Gnaeus Daniels | 33 | Accused of helping cover up the crime |
Liza Ridley faces the most serious charges, including:
- Murder
- Possession of an instrument of crime
- Ab*se of a corpse
- Conspiracy to commit ab*se of a corpse
- Obstruction of justice
- Tampering with evidence
- Additional related offences
The other three suspects are accused of helping clean the crime scene and dispose of evidence after the alleged murder.
Rideshare Driver Helped Investigators
One of the key developments in the case involved a rideshare driver who allegedly transported the suitcase containing the victim’s remains.
Investigators claim that Liza Ridley used a rideshare service to move the suitcase to the alley where it was later discovered. After the trip, the driver noticed a strong odour and found a fluid stain on the vehicle’s floor.
When questioned, Ridley allegedly told the driver that the bag contained dirty clothes. However, the driver became suspicious and took a photograph of Ridley. The next day, the driver shared that information with police, which reportedly helped investigators move forward with the case.
Allegations of Dismemberment
Authorities allege that Vincent Good’s body was dismembered before being placed into the suitcase and trash bags. Prosecutors claim that Bernadette Ridley helped with this process before the remains were transported and abandoned.
Investigators believe Good may have been dead for at least two weeks before his remains were discovered.
The disturbing nature of the allegations has raised many questions about what happened during that period and how multiple individuals may have been involved in the alleged cover-up.
Possible Financial Motive Under Investigation
Although law enforcement officials have not officially announced a motive, investigators are examining whether financial gain may have played a role.
Reports indicate that Vincent Good received Social Security benefits and that Liza Ridley served as his caregiver. Authorities are reportedly reviewing financial records and other evidence to determine whether money could have been a factor in the case.
At this stage, investigators have not released any final conclusions regarding motive, and the inquiry remains active.
