A shocking murder investigation in Indiana has become even more serious after authorities reportedly discovered child s**ual ab*se material (CSAM) on the phone of a man already facing murder charges. The case has attracted widespread attention because of the multiple allegations now linked to the suspect and the disturbing details revealed during the investigation.
Girlfriend Killed in Deadly Shooting
According to investigators, 21-year-old Rylynn Davis was arrested on May 10 after a shooting that resulted in the death of his 23-year-old girlfriend, Cheyenne Raines. Authorities said Raines suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the face and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The shooting also left two other men, aged 39 and 40, injured. Both survived and received medical treatment. Following the incident, Davis was charged with murder, attempted murder, aggravated battery, and several related offences.
Children Found Living in Poor Conditions
During the investigation, authorities reportedly discovered three children living in extremely poor conditions inside the home. Investigators said the children were found in a locked bedroom and were covered in faeces. Officials described the environment as deplorable and unsafe.
As a result of those findings, Davis was also charged with neglect-related offences. The condition of the children became another major focus of the investigation alongside the homicide case.
Phone Search Leads to New Investigation
After Davis was arrested and booked into jail, investigators obtained a search warrant for his electronic devices. During a forensic examination of his phone, authorities allegedly found child s**ual ab*se material that had been downloaded onto the device.
According to court documents, investigators also believe that some of the material was advertised through groups on the messaging platform Telegram. These findings led to a separate criminal investigation and additional allegations against Davis.
Twelve More Felony Charges Added
Authorities have now filed 12 additional felony charges against Davis related to the material allegedly discovered on his phone. These charges are separate from the murder and attempted murder allegations he is already facing.
Prosecutors are continuing to review evidence in both cases. The additional charges have significantly increased the seriousness of the legal challenges facing Davis as the investigation moves forward.
Possible Additional Prison Time
Reports indicate that if prosecutors formally pursue the new allegations and Davis is convicted, he could face up to six additional years in prison. Any sentence related to the newly filed charges would be separate from penalties connected to the homicide case.
