A tragic crash in St. Gabriel over the weekend claimed the life of a 40-year-old Convent man and left another person seriously injured, according to local authorities.
Convent Man Killed in St. Gabriel Crash
A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred late Saturday night along Louisiana Highway 74 in St. Gabriel.
According to the St. Gabriel Police Department, the crash happened at approximately 10:30 p.m. and involved a vehicle that overturned along the highway.
The passenger, identified as Walter Scott III, 40, of Convent, died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after the incident was reported but were unable to save him.
Driver Suffers Serious Injuries
The driver of the vehicle survived the crash but suffered serious injuries.
Acadian Ambulance Services transported the driver by AirMed helicopter to a hospital for emergency medical treatment.
