A Brooklyn man has been charged by federal authorities after allegedly sending multiple threats against U.S. President Donald Trump through the White House website. Prosecutors say the messages contained repeated threats of violence and led to the man’s arrest and detention pending trial.
Brooklyn Man Arrested Over Alleged Threats Against President Trump
Federal prosecutors have charged 53-year-old Justin Christopher Moore of Brooklyn, New York, with threatening the President of the United States.
According to court documents, Moore allegedly sent several messages through the official White House website that contained threats directed at President Donald Trump.
Authorities said the messages were submitted through the website’s contact form and included statements indicating an intent to harm the president.
Federal Complaint Details Alleged Threats
Investigators allege that Moore sent multiple threatening messages on May 24.
According to prosecutors, the messages referenced future public appearances by the president and contained explicit threats of violence.
Court records indicate that Moore allegedly expressed anger over government policies and claimed that those concerns motivated his actions.
Federal authorities treated the messages as credible threats and launched an immediate investigation.
Suspect Reportedly Included Personal Information
According to the criminal complaint, Moore allegedly included his own name, address, email address, and phone number with the messages submitted through the White House website.
Investigators say this information helped law enforcement quickly identify and locate him.
Authorities later travelled to his residence in Brooklyn to question him about the alleged threats.
Law Enforcement Agents Confront Suspect
Federal agents visited Moore’s residence on May 25 and reportedly encountered him outside the property.
According to the complaint, investigators questioned him about the messages and whether he had sent them.
Authorities allege that Moore acknowledged sending the messages during the encounter.
The complaint also states that investigators asked whether he understood that making threats against government officials is illegal.
Additional Threat Allegations Investigated
Court documents indicate that Moore allegedly told investigators he had also made threats involving Vice President JD Vance and several members of Congress.
Federal authorities continue reviewing the statements as part of the ongoing case.
Investigators have not publicly disclosed whether any additional charges may be filed.
Judge Orders Defendant Held Pending Trial
Moore was arrested and formally charged in the Eastern District of New York.
Following his arraignment on May 26, a judge ordered that he remain in custody pending trial.
Court records indicate the judge cited concerns about community safety, the strength of the evidence presented by prosecutors, and Moore’s limited ties to the community.
Officials also referenced a lack of stable employment when considering detention.
Mental Health History Mentioned in Court
According to reports presented during a recent court appearance, Moore has a history of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
However, the criminal case remains focused on the allegations contained in the federal complaint.
Mental health information presented during court proceedings does not determine guilt or innocence and will be considered separately within the legal process.
Preliminary Hearing Scheduled
Federal court records show that Moore is scheduled to return to court on June 9 for a preliminary hearing.
At that hearing, prosecutors are expected to present additional information regarding the charges and evidence in the case.
The investigation remains ongoing.
