Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Issues Cease-and-Desist Order
Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple recently issued a Cease-and-Desist Order against contractor Jon Andersen. Authorities say Andersen allegedly falsified documents while applying for a new contractor’s license.
The order was issued after officials determined that Andersen violated Louisiana insurance laws and unfair trade practice regulations. These laws are designed to protect consumers and ensure that businesses follow proper rules when operating in the state.
According to the commissioner’s office, Andersen manipulated inspection records and other documents to support his application.
Contractor Arrested in Jefferson Parish
Jon Andersen was later arrested in Jefferson Parish on February 25, 2026.
Authorities charged him with several serious offenses, including:
- Fraud
- Filing false public records
- Forgery
Law enforcement officials say the arrest followed an investigation into documents Andersen submitted while trying to regain his contractor credentials.
License Previously Revoked in 2025
Records show that Andersen’s contractor license had already been revoked in July 2025.
Despite the revocation, Andersen attempted to obtain a new contractor license for his company, Andersen Design + Build LLC, which is based in New Orleans.
On January 28, 2026, Andersen reportedly applied for a new license at the Jefferson Parish Government office. During the application process, he submitted paperwork that authorities later determined contained falsified information.
Fraudulent Insurance Documents Submitted
Investigators say Andersen presented two fraudulent certificates of insurance as part of his license application.
These documents were intended to show proof of:
- Commercial liability insurance
- Workers’ compensation insurance
Officials later determined that the certificates were fake. The alleged use of these false documents triggered violations of Louisiana insurance laws and prompted the cease-and-desist action.
30 Days to Request an Appeal
Authorities served Andersen with the Cease-and-Desist Order on February 13, 2026.
Under Louisiana law, Andersen has 30 days from the date he was served to request an administrative appeal. If he does not file an appeal within that timeframe, the order will automatically become final.
The case could also lead to additional penalties depending on the outcome of the legal proceedings.
