A Long Island man has been arrested after authorities accused him of involving his teenage daughter in a cocaine distribution operation. Investigators allege that the suspect used his 13-year-old child to help complete a drug transaction, leading to multiple criminal charges.
The case has drawn attention because of the serious allegations involving a minor and the potential risks posed to the child.
Long Island Father Accused of Using Daughter in Drug Deal
Julio Enmanuel Pena, 39, was arrested at his home in Freeport, New York, following an investigation by Nassau County police.
According to authorities, Pena is accused of coordinating the sale of cocaine and involving his teenage daughter in the transaction. Investigators allege that he arranged a drug deal with a buyer and then directed his 13-year-old daughter to participate in completing the exchange.
The allegations have resulted in several felony charges related to drug possession, drug sales, conspiracy, and child welfare.
Police Say Teenager Delivered Drugs and Collected Money
According to court documents, the alleged incident occurred on May 26 in Freeport.
Investigators claim Pena organised a cocaine sale and instructed his daughter to deliver the drugs to the buyer. Authorities further allege that the teenager then returned with the money from the transaction and handed it over to her father.
Police say the child’s involvement in the alleged deal played a significant role in the charges filed against Pena.
The allegations have raised concerns about the exploitation of minors in criminal activities and the potential emotional and legal consequences for children placed in such situations.
Search Warrant Leads to Discovery of Cocaine
As part of the investigation, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Pena’s residence.
According to authorities, officers entered the home and found Pena asleep during the raid. During their search, investigators reportedly discovered 13 bags of cocaine inside the residence.
Police also recovered a mobile phone that prosecutors believe was used to arrange the alleged drug transaction.
The evidence collected during the search has been included as part of the criminal case against the suspect.

Following his arrest, Pena was charged with numerous offences under New York law.
Authorities say the charges include criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal sale of a controlled substance, conspiracy in the third degree, use of a child to commit a controlled substance offence, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The charge related to allegedly using a minor in a drug offence is particularly serious because prosecutors claim the suspect intentionally involved a child in illegal activity.
