Missing Persons Report Triggered Investigation
The investigation began on November 9, 2021, when Murphy’s family reported her missing.
Family members told police they became worried after they were unable to reach her and she failed to show up for work that day.
Police officers from the Wheeling Police and Fire Departments conducted a welfare check at her apartment on Inland Drive.
When officers arrived, they entered the apartment through an unlocked balcony door.
