Reese Bernard is a junior at E.D. White Catholic High School and has already become a standout student on campus.
Bernard is known for balancing schoolwork, sports, and extracurricular activities while maintaining a positive attitude toward her classmates and teachers. She says she truly enjoys her high school experience and tries to appreciate every moment, even though the years seem to pass quickly.

Active Student Leader on Campus
In addition to being a strong student academically, Bernard is also active in several school activities.
She is a member of the school’s student council, where she helps support different events and initiatives around campus. Bernard also enjoys attending and supporting many school activities whenever she can.
She says what makes E.D. White special is the strong sense of community.
According to Bernard, the school feels like a family where students support one another and teachers and administrators are always willing to help.
She appreciates the effort the school makes to create a positive experience for every student.
A Key Player for the Cardinals Basketball Team
Bernard is also a dedicated athlete. She is a starting forward for the E.D. White Cardinals girls’ basketball team.
On the court, she is known for her strong defensive play and her ability to shoot three-pointers. Bernard says being part of a team is one of the most rewarding parts of her high school life.
Some of her favorite moments include traveling to games, spending time with teammates, and working hard during practices.
One of her proudest achievements so far has been helping her team reach the LHSAA State Quarterfinals for two consecutive seasons.
Track Team and Athletic Conditioning
Besides basketball, Bernard also contributes as a member of the school’s track team, continuing to stay active in multiple sports.
She shared one humorous memory from a conditioning session in the weight room. While working with medicine balls during a workout, she tossed one into the air but missed the catch, and it came down and hit her on the nose.
The moment turned into a funny memory that she still laughs about with teammates.
Enjoying Life as a Teen
Outside of school and sports, Bernard says she enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Like many teenagers, some of her favorite memories come from simply laughing, hanging out, and creating fun moments with the people closest to her.
These experiences, she says, are just as important as achievements in school or athletics.
Future Plans: Helping Others Through Psychology
Looking ahead, Bernard plans to attend college after graduating from high school.
She hopes to pursue a career in psychology and is interested in becoming either a forensic psychologist or a clinical psychologist.
Her goal is to work in a field where she can help people and make a positive difference in others’ lives.
