NYC mom of three randomly slashed four times by masked maniac on way to bus stop: ‘I am afraid to go home’

Queens mother of threeLisette Ramales, was randomly slashed by a masked man as she walked to a bus stop early Monday morning, leaving her with serious injuries and “scared to go back home,” she told The Post.

The 29-year-old was walking near 23rd Avenue and 94th Street in East Elmhurst, around 6:20 a.m., when a stranger launched a senseless attack. According to Ramales and the police, she was crossing the street, waiting for the light to change when the man suddenly slashed her multiple times without warning.

The Unprovoked Attack

Ramales recalls being completely startled by the attack:
“I was waiting for the light to turn to walk,” she explained from her hospital bed. “All of a sudden, the guy slashed me twice. I yelled, and he looked like he turned around to go. And then just because I yelled, he did it again.”

The attacker slashed her four times in total, without saying a word or taking anything from her. “That’s the weird part,” Ramales said. “He didn’t say anything. He didn’t take anything, my belongings — nothing.”

Bystanders’ Reluctance to Help

Despite her cries for help, bystanders were hesitant to intervene.
“I was walking to a lady that was there. She didn’t even offer to help me. She was just looking at me, and I was crying and yelling,” she recounted. “Then a man approached me while he was walking his dog, and he didn’t even tell me anything. He just called 911, which I appreciate.”

Ramales’ Injuries and Fear

Ramales was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where she received stitches for her wounds and was treated for her injuries. Her most serious wound was on her back, and she also suffered broken ribs.

Despite having raised her three children, aged 311, and 14, in the area and never fearing for their safety before, the attack has shaken her. “Honestly, I’m scared to go back home,” she said. “If I do work, I’m probably just going to go a little later in the day when there’s sunlight.”

No Arrests in the Attack

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with this unprovoked slashing. Authorities continue to search for the attacker.

Another Slashing Incident in the Area

The incident occurred just one day after a similar attack in Staten Island. A 27-year-old deli worker was slashed in the face around 7:20 a.m. at the Staten Ferry Terminal. Authorities say Osiris Brown, 29, knifed him once on the right side of his face. The victim was taken to Richmond University Medical Center in stable condition.

Brown was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including assaultresisting arrest, and criminal possession of a weapon.
