NEW ORLEANS — A bomb threat in the French Quarter led to a large response from multiple law enforcement agencies on Saturday night, according to a report by WDSU.
Authorities Respond to Threat
At around 8:30 p.m., authorities responded to a bomb threat at the intersection of Chartres Street and Conti Street. Among the agencies that responded were the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD), the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, and the National Guard.
Area Affected
Several streets near the Supreme Court Building on Royal Street were blocked off as authorities investigated the threat. People in nearby restaurants were instructed to shelter in place while the investigation took place.
Investigation Cleared
The NOPD later confirmed that the area was cleared and that the investigation had been concluded without further incident.
