CALIFORNIA – The body of 19-year-old Brian Gallardo from Petaluma, California, has been found after he went missing while swimming in the cold Truckee River. The teenager disappeared on Saturday near Floriston, California, while swimming in the river with strong currents due to snowmelt runoff. The water temperature was around 44 degrees.
Rescue Efforts
Rescue teams, including K9 units, drones, helicopters, and ground searchers, were involved in searching for Gallardo. His body was finally discovered by divers from Washoe County’s Sheriff Office on Monday.
The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the cause of death was drowning. The incident has deeply affected Gallardo’s family and friends.
