PetSmart National Adoption Week is coming to the Terrebonne-Lafourche area, offering completely free pet adoptions for the entire week.
Why is the Adoption Week Happening?
The Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter has seen a significant increase in pets coming through their doors. To help create space and give more pets a chance, they are asking for the community’s support.
“We are feeling the pressure right now with a high increase in pets coming through our doors, and we need the community’s help to create space and save lives,” said the Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter.
Free Adoptions for a Limited Time
From March 23 to March 28, 2026, the Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter will be offering waived adoption fees for pets that are already spayed or neutered and ready to go home the same day.
Adoption Event Schedule
Here’s when you can visit to adopt a pet:
- Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter – March 23-25, 2026: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter – March 26, 2026: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- PetSmart Houma – March 27, 2026: Noon – 4:00 PM
- PetSmart Houma – March 28, 2026: 9:00 AM – Noon
