A tragic shooting in Texas has left a mother and her young daughter dead, with police identifying John Mbuyi as the gunman.
What Happened
According to the Haltom City Police Department, Mbuyi allegedly shot and killed Raissa Thatukila, 33, and their 6-year-old daughter, Nathy Mbuyi, before taking his own life.
Investigators say the shooting happened Friday afternoon in the parking lot of a local stadium. Authorities believe Mbuyi lured the victims there under the pretense of giving them money, then carried out a planned ambush.

Police said there was an ongoing custody dispute between Mbuyi and Thatukila. Investigators believe he held significant grievances and had been dealing with personal distress, including the recent death of his father.
