New Orleans police are searching for a suspect in a building inspection forgery case

The New Orleans Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted in connection with multiple fraud-related charges.

Authorities are searching for Jon Anderson, who is also known as Jon Andersen. He is wanted on four counts of forgery, seven counts of filing false public records, and three counts of online impersonation.

Allegations Involving Fake Inspection Reports

According to investigators, the alleged incidents took place between June 11, 2024, and June 9, 2025. During that time, Anderson is accused of submitting fake building and mechanical inspection reports for a property located in the 600 block of North Pierce Street.

Police say he created a fraudulent email address designed to appear as if it belonged to a licensed third-party inspector. Using that email, he allegedly sent falsified inspection reports to city officials.

Use of Altered Documents and False Contracts

Investigators further allege that the documents included digitally altered photos and modified inspection reports that were copied from publicly available sources. In addition, Anderson is accused of uploading a fake construction contract into the city’s permit system.

Investigation Ongoing

Police remind the public that Anderson is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are encouraging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.
