Donald Trump, the U.S. President, was seen leaving Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, on Easter Sunday. Dressed in a white T-shirt and matching cap, Trump appeared calm and waved to onlookers as he headed back to the White House.
However, his public appearance came just hours after he posted a controversial message on his social media platform, Truth Social, which quickly sparked online debates.
In his post, Trump referred to increasing tensions with Iran, writing, “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran.” He followed this with a warning: “There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fin’ Strait, you crazy b**ds, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Reactions to Trump’s Post
The tone and language of the post, especially on Easter Sunday, upset many people. Some described the message as “unhinged.” Chuck Schumer, a senior Senate Democrat, criticized the president, saying: “The president of the United States is ranting like an unhinged madman on social media … He’s threatening possible war crimes and alienating allies.
This is who he is, but this is not who we are. Our country deserves so much better.”
Former Trump ally, Marjorie Taylor Greene, also criticized the president, saying that people in his administration needed to “fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God” for supporting Trump. She added that Trump had “gone insane” and that his team was complicit in his behavior.
Concerns Over Trump’s Timing
Many people questioned the appropriateness of Trump’s message, especially since Easter is a time traditionally associated with peace and reflection. Others focused on the potential geopolitical consequences of his words, given the ongoing tensions with Iran.
Rumors About Trump’s Health
Trump’s appearance also came after rumors started circulating on social media on April 4, 2026. Some users claimed that the 79-year-old president was receiving treatment at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. These rumors were fueled by unverified reports about road closures and flight restrictions near the area.
In response, a White House spokesperson shut down the rumors. Steven Cheung, the White House Communications Director, wrote on social media: “There has never been a President who has worked harder for the American people than President Trump. On this Easter weekend, he has been working nonstop in the White House and Oval Office. God Bless him.”
White House Responds to Speculation
The administration further responded to the rumors, criticizing those spreading misinformation. The Rapid Response 47 account posted, “Deranged liberals cook up insane conspiracy theories when @POTUS goes 12 hours without speaking to the press. Fear not! President Trump literally never stops working.”
CBS News White House correspondent Emma Nicholson also shared an update from outside the West Wing, mentioning that a Marine sentry was stationed at the entrance, a traditional sign that the president was inside and working.
