A 41-year-old man was fatally shot following a traffic accident in the St. Claude area on Tuesday afternoon, April 7, according to the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD). The victim’s identity has not yet been disclosed.

Details of the Incident

The NOPD responded to reports of an auto accident with shots fired at 5:01 p.m. at the intersection of North Claiborne Avenue and Desire Street. Upon arrival, officers found the victim inside one of the vehicles involved, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

New Orleans EMS transported the victim to the hospital for emergency treatment, but despite efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital, the NOPD confirmed.

Suspect and Vehicle Fled the Scene
