Tulane’s football recruiting is starting to pick up pace, and the latest commitment shows the program is building early momentum for the future. The Green Wave has added another young talent to its 2027 class, signalling growing interest from promising players.
Tulane Lands New Commitment
Tulane Green Wave football secured its fourth commitment for the 2027 class with the addition of Tavares Stinson. The cornerback from Spalding High School in Griffin, Georgia, made his decision after considering several offers from other college programs.
This commitment comes nearly a month after Tulane’s previous 2027 pledge, showing that recruiting activity is starting to gain momentum again.
Strong Defensive Performance
Stinson has already shown strong potential on the field. Standing at 5’11” and weighing 175 pounds, he plays as a cornerback and has delivered solid defensive numbers.
During his 2025 season, he recorded 42 tackles, eight pass breakups, and three interceptions. One of those interceptions was returned for a touchdown, highlighting his ability to turn defence into scoring opportunities.
Multi-Sport Athlete
Apart from football, Stinson is also active in basketball. His performance on the court shows his all-around athletic ability and versatility.
He averaged 4.6 points, 3 assists, and 3.9 rebounds, proving he can contribute in multiple sports. This kind of background often helps players develop better coordination, agility, and game awareness.
Why This Commitment Matters
Tulane’s early recruiting for the 2027 class shows the coaching staff is focused on building a strong foundation for the future. Getting commitments early helps the program stay competitive and attract more talent.
Stinson’s ability to make key plays at important moments makes him a valuable addition. His instincts and timing on the field are qualities that can make a big difference in close games.
