The upcoming Pathway Café will open at 9901 Chef Menteur Highway. This unique space will combine a café with a professional car wash, offering customers both food and services in one place.
The project is led by founder Brandon Hunter, who aims to create more than just a business. His goal is to build a supportive environment for individuals who need a second chance.
A Mission Beyond Business
Pathway Café is built around a strong social purpose. The business plans to provide stable jobs for people recovering from addiction and those returning to society after incarceration.
In addition to employment, the café will support workers by helping them get back on their feet. Profits from the business will go toward programs that can cover up to six months of rent for employees, giving them a chance to rebuild their lives with stability.
Food and Services Offered
Customers visiting Pathway Café can expect a mix of popular local dishes and everyday comfort food. The menu is expected to include items like po-boys, wings, bagels, and grits.
At the same time, the car wash service will allow visitors to have their vehicles cleaned and detailed while they enjoy a meal or coffee.
Reviving a Long-Abandoned Property
The café is taking over the former Two Sisters ‘N Da East building, which has been empty for several years. Renovating this space is a major part of the project’s impact.
According to Hunter, improving the building will help remove an eyesore and turn it into something positive for the community. This effort is expected to uplift the surrounding area and encourage further development.

While the official opening date depends on final city permits, the café is expected to open in early summer 2026.
