The incident took place on Sunday evening around 5 p.m. at Tasker Park, located along North First Street in Ponchatoula. Police officers were already present at the park, working security due to a large gathering.
Suddenly, officers heard gunshots coming from within the crowd. When they responded, they found one victim who had been shot in the leg. A second victim, also suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, later reached a hospital for treatment.
Both victims are currently reported to be in stable condition.
