A disturbing case from Florida has raised serious concerns about child safety, after a mother was accused of violently attacking her 12-year-old son over a personal dispute. The incident reportedly began during a simple car ride but quickly turned into a frightening situation that left the child injured and terrified.
What Happened in the Incident
According to the Miami Police Department, 32-year-old Lucianny Lizbeth Luna was arrested after her son reported the abuse to school authorities.
The boy told officials that the incident started when his mother picked him up from school and began driving him to Gwen Cherry Park for practice. During the drive, she was on a phone call, and the child believed she was speaking to a man involved in an alleged affair.
When the boy corrected something she said during the call, the situation suddenly became violent.
Details of the Alleged Assault
Police reports describe a series of violent actions that took place during and after the car ride. According to the complaint, the mother allegedly:
- Slapped the child in the face
- Pulled his hair
- Hit him multiple times on the back of his head with a small glass bottle
- Tried to stab him with keys, causing a cut on his palm
The child said he felt shocked and froze during the attack. Even though he did not have visible injuries on the back of his head, he reported pain and soreness.
Violence Continued at Home
The situation did not end when they reached home. The boy told police that after informing his stepfather, he was attacked again.
As per the report:
- The mother hit him again on the face
- Slammed him against a wall
- Tried to stop him from escaping by grabbing his towel
At one point, the stepfather stepped in and restrained the accused, allowing the boy to run to his room and lock the door.
Threats and Fear for Life
Even after the boy locked himself in his room, the situation remained tense and dangerous. According to the complaint, the mother allegedly shouted threats from outside the door, including statements about wanting to kill him.
The child, feeling scared for his life, contacted his aunt through Instagram and showed her his injuries. He asked her to inform his grandparents so they could come and take him away.
Police later confirmed that the aunt supported the child’s version of events.
Injuries Observed by Authorities
When officers and child protective services arrived at the school, they noticed clear signs of injury, including:
- Bruising and cuts near the left eye
- A small cut on the right palm
- Bruising on the back
The child also told authorities he was too scared to call 911 at the time.
Mother’s Statement and Arrest
When questioned by police, Luna admitted to hitting her son multiple times on his back. However, she denied hitting his face or head.
Despite her claims, authorities arrested her and charged her with child abuse. She was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
She later posted a bond of $5,000. As of now, no court date has been officially announced.
