A vehicle burglary in Breaux Bridge has prompted authorities to ask for the public’s help in identifying a suspect. The case involves a stolen firearm, making it a serious concern for both law enforcement and the local community.
What Happened in Breaux Bridge?
According to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place early in the morning on March 28 at a business located on Mills Highway in Breaux Bridge.
Investigators reported that a vehicle parked at the location was broken into. The driver’s side window had been shattered, and the glove box inside the vehicle was found open, suggesting that the suspect was searching for valuables.
Stolen Firearm Details
During the burglary, a firearm was taken from the vehicle. The stolen weapon is a Glock 31 Gen4 .357 handgun. Authorities noted that while the gun was originally black, it has since been modified with a burgundy Cerakote finish, making it easier to identify.
The theft of a firearm adds urgency to the case, as stolen weapons can pose a risk if used in further crimes.
