The incident, which happened in 2024, has now reached a major legal turning point. The accused, Keyonna Waddell, has been found guilty and could face a long prison sentence for her actions.
What Happened on the Night of the Explosion?
According to officials, the incident began with a heated argument between Waddell and her boyfriend at his apartment on March 22, 2024. After the argument, the man asked her to leave. Both of them stepped out, but later, the victim returned home, believing he was alone and safe.
However, that was not the case. While he was asleep, he suddenly woke up to a strange hissing sound. When he checked where the noise was coming from, he saw flames in his bedroom. To his horror, he realised that it was a lit stick of dynamite.
A Desperate Attempt to Stop the Blast
The victim quickly tried to put out the fuse but failed. In a desperate attempt to save himself, he picked up the dynamite and tried to throw it out of the window. Sadly, he did not have enough time. The explosive went off while it was still in his hand.
The blast caused severe injuries. He immediately felt intense pain and realised that his hand had been destroyed in the explosion. Despite his condition, he managed to run outside for help.
Serious Injuries and Medical Treatment
After the explosion, the victim underwent emergency surgery. Doctors had to remove his damaged hand and part of his arm due to the extent of the injuries. The physical and emotional impact of such an incident is expected to be long-lasting.
