A major drug-related arrest has been reported in Opelousas, where authorities say a man is facing multiple serious felony charges. The case has drawn attention due to the types and quantities of drugs allegedly found during the investigation.
Arrest and Charges
Police identified the suspect as Jerry Deville II, 61. He has been charged with several offences, including possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, and oxycodone, along with possession of drug paraphernalia.
These charges are considered serious, especially due to the involvement of substances like fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Search Operation Details
According to authorities, officers carried out a search at a residence located near the 200 block of Pine Loop. During the operation, investigators reportedly discovered a significant amount of illegal substances.
Police said they recovered around 97 grams of crystal methamphetamine and about 20 grams of suspected fentanyl. In addition, they found three small bags believed to contain marijuana and one tablet of oxycodone.
Previous Legal History
Authorities also noted that Deville had faced drug-related charges in the past. At the time of this arrest, he was reportedly already out on bond, which has added to concerns around repeat offences.
