The incident took place at Chili’s Grill and Bar in Sumter, South Carolina. According to police, a woman who was on a date started feeling uneasy with her companion. Instead of ignoring her instincts, she decided to call a friend for support.

Fight Escalates with Weapons
The confrontation involved two 21-year-old men, Tristan Gabriel Letterman and Ariel Lagunes-Sarmiento. According to the Sumter Police Department, the situation escalated when one of the men reportedly pulled out a gun.
In response, the other man displayed knives he had on him. This created panic in the restaurant, as people realised the argument had turned dangerous. The presence of both a firearm and knives made the situation extremely risky, even though no one was physically harmed.
Police Arrive at the Scene
Police received a call around 7:30 p.m. about a man pointing a gun inside the restaurant, which is located in a busy shopping area. Officers quickly reached the location to control the situation and ensure everyone’s safety.
After investigating, they confirmed that the fight began because of the woman’s discomfort during her date. However, it is still not clear which of the two men she was originally on the date with.
Arrests and Charges
Both men were taken into custody on April 23. They have been charged with aggravated breach of peace due to their involvement in the public disturbance. In addition to this, Letterman is also facing a charge for pointing and presenting a firearm.
They were later booked at the county detention centre. As per available records, it appears that neither of them is currently in custody. It is also not known whether they have hired legal representation yet.
